As you discover the wonders of India, you will indulge in a past, and unforgotten era, of a world of luxury and opulence. Travel back in time and immerse yourself in the regal houses of Jodhpur, Udaipur and Hyderabad, and marvel at the glistening colonial gems of Mumbai. Enjoy the mouth watering delicacies produced in Royal kitchens, which are fit for a King, whilst savoring the unique and vibrant delights of bazaars, which was once the home of the expert craftsmen, who designed the beautiful and intricate jewels of the Maharajahs, and relax in a palace spa, whilst being pampered in luxurious surroundings.
Day 1: Arrive Mumbai
Welcome to India! You will be greeted at the Mumbai Airport, and be escorted to your hotel.
Day 2: Mumbai
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll begin your day by exploring the magnificent variety of Mumbai’s historic relics and artifacts. You’ll soak in the ambiance of this bustling city as you stroll through the vibrant art district, stopping to visit the Prince of Wales Museum, the Bhau Jaji Lad Museum, and the frenetic old bazaars of Bhuleshwar. You’ll take a guided tour to some of the most popular and famous city landmarks, including the ancient Banganga Temple Complex and Khotachiwadi, a quaint village that is home to families whose ancestors first occupied the little city many years ago. It’s a great way and a great day to meet and greet real authentic townsfolk!
Day 3: Mumbai
Many tourists are not aware that the city of Mumbai has enjoyed a long and complex relationship with Britain and British culture, and they are surprised by its distinct old-world colonial appeal, especially when visiting the Indo-Saracenic, Muslim and Gothic architectural sites. You’ll continue to pick up on this cultural and architectural irony as you visit famous attractions such as: the Horniman Circle, the Cathedral Church of St. Thomas, the Asiatic Library (Town Hall), Rajabai Clock Tower, and the world renowned Mumbai University.
This afternoon, you’ll have the afternoon free to continue discovering more of Mumbai’s amazing sites and shops, or you can take a relaxing break at your luxury hotel.
Day 4: To Udaipur
Your journey continues onward to one of India’s jewels, the Lake City of Udaipur. Drink in the sights of the picturesque desert oasis, Aravalli Hills, and marvel at the beauty of the palaces that dot the landscape.When you arrive, you will be transported to your palace hotel located near the unforgettable Lake Pichola.Later on, indulge your inner royalty by visiting a lakeside spa, where you can get refreshed and rejuvenated for tomorrow’s next exciting adventure.
Day 5: Udaipur
Today you’ll explore the opulent City Palace and stroll through the winding alleys of Udaipur. You’ll be enthralled as you visit the hectic and vibrant bazaars of this fabulous city. In the evening, you’ll be able to wind down on a relaxing and peaceful private boat ride on scenic Lake Pichola.
Day 6: To Jodhpur
After a lovely breakfast, you’ll say goodbye to Udaipur and take a full-day road trip through some of India’s arid desert lands on your way to the Blue City of Jodhpur. You’ll make a stop at Ranakpur Temple, one of the most significant and imposing Jain temple complexes located in India.
Day 7: Jodhpur
You’ll start your day exploring the imposing Mehrangarh Fort and its museum that boasts an impressive collection of royal thrones, traditional weaponry, paintings and other artifacts. You’ll experience the “real outback” of Rajasthani life on an interesting village safari to Bishnoi. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for chinkara, black bucks, and the multitude of migratory birds that frequent the countryside. In the afternoon, you’ll visit some local craftspeople and watch them work their magic in their traditional workshops. For your last evening in Jodhpur, you’ll experience a night with the maharajahs, where you’ll enjoy the luxury and chivalry of their ancient traditions. Tomorrow, you’re off to Hyderabad, the City of Pearls!
Day 8: To Hyderabad
After a leisurely morning, you’ll be escorted to the airport for your onward flight to the City of Pearls: Hyderabad. Once there, you’ll be transported to one of India’s finest palace hotels, the Taj Falaknuma, a 19th century royal palace known as the “Mirror of the Sky”.Take advantage of the afternoon to rest up and relax, because over the next two days you’ll need lots of energy to explore this exciting city.
Day 9-10: Hyderabad
For the next two days, you will explore the famous historic city of the Nizams. You’ll be awestruck by the fabulous sights and hidden treasures of Hyderabad. First stop, the Golconda Fort, an architectural jewel, part of which has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meander through the bustling streets and alleys of the famous Charminar Market, and swoon over the opulent artifacts that are housed at the palace museums that you will visit. Your visit to Hyderabad won’t be complete until you taste its sumptuous cuisine, and you will have an opportunity to do so at an unforgettable celebratory dinner.
Day 10: Jaipur
Day 11: Depart Hyderabad
After your morning breakfast at your hotel, you will be transported to the airport to continue your travels. India will miss you!
