Journey from the ancient sites of the Mughal Empire in Delhi, to the shores of the renowned and Holy Ganges in the city of Varanasi. Witness an aarti ceremony in the evening, before watching the sunrise against the backdrop of the rich white marbled opulence of the Taj Mahal. Discover UNESCO World Heritage sites of Khajuraho and its beautiful sacred art, before traveling to the Pink City Of Jaipur, which reveals its romantic past, before visiting the stunning Lake City of Udaipur.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
You’ll arrive in Delhi where you will be greeted by our local representative and transported to your luxury hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day catching up on your rest and relaxation and begin looking forward to an exciting day tomorrow!
Day 2: Delhi
Your day will begin by exploring the rich and lavish historical past of Old Delhi’s Red Fort, a magnificent structure that celebrates the might of the Mughal Empire. A bit later, you’ll be visiting one of the largest and most amazing mosques in the world; the Jama Masjid built for Shah Jahan. You’ll enjoy an authentic and flavorful local lunch and then have the afternoon free to continue exploring the area on your own.
Day 3: Delhi
The Qutab Minar is a red sandstone tower that was constructed to honor and acknowledge the beginning of Muslim rule. You’ll be exploring it this morning, and then you’ll spend a pleasant visit enjoying the enchanting ambiance of Emperor Humayun’s garden tomb and gazing upon the immense India Gate.
Day 4: Varanasi
You’ll fly to Varanasi, an ancient city that is set upon the banks of the holy Ganges River. After your arrival there, you’ll visit the city of Sarnath and then move on to the sacred Ganges River where you will attend the enchanting evening ceremony called “aarti.” Having the opportunity to witness this special ceremony up close and personal is truly a privilege and an unmatched experience that you’ll fondly remember for the rest of your life.
Day 5: Khajuraho
You’re off for an early morning sunrise boat tour where you’ll be able to soak in the mysticism of your holy surroundings. In the afternoon, you’ll be flying to Khajuraho where you will check into your hotel. Later on, you’ll be guided through a tour of the skillfully and painstakingly carved Jain and Hindu temples in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 6: To Agra
In the morning you will explore the charming medieval palaces of Orchha. After a hearty lunch, you’ll board a train and travel onwards to the former capital of Hindustan: Agra.
Day 7: Agra
This morning, you’ll enjoy the view of the daily sunrise that illuminates the exquisite Taj Mahal: the world-renowned white marble mausoleum that is considered to be one of the wonders of the world. A shrine built by Emperor Shah Jahan, the Taj Mahal honors his beloved queen, Mumtaz Mahal. After a delicious breakfast, you’ll explore the Agra Fort, a walled city fashioned out of red sandstone. It’s an amazing complex full of mosques, meeting halls, and ancient palaces.
Day 8: To Jaipur
You’re off to Jaipur, aka the Pink City. On the way, you’ll stop at Fatehpur Sikri, an enigmatic city built of red sandstone. The Emperor Akbar built this city to be his capital, but abandoned it just fifteen years after it was constructed. En route, you’ll stop for a tasty and authentic lunch. Day 9: Jaipur
Take an unforgettable trip atop majestic Indian elephants that will escort you to the magnificent Amber Fort. You’ll have the wonderful opportunity to gaze down upon the shimmering waters of Lake Maota, and enjoy the refreshing breezes from atop the imposing ramparts of the massive fort. When you return to town, you’ll have some time to admire the beautiful Hawa Mahal, a building that afforded the royal ladies of the court an unobstructed view of regal special events and parades, while at the same time ensuring that they would avoid the unwelcome gazes of the common folk.
Day 10: Jaipur
This morning you’ll explore the City Palace Museum, which houses a large collection of Rajasthan costumes, ancient weapons, miniature paintings, and many other historical artifacts. You’ll then move on to the incredible Jantar Mantar observatory, home of the world’s large stone sundial. It’s truly an awe-inspiring venue, and one that you have to see in person in order to fully appreciate. You’ll have an afternoon to explore on your own or relax at your hotel.
Day 11: To Udaipur
You’ll be on the road today, enjoying a southward trip through the majestic countryside on your way to the charming lake city of Udaipur.
Day 12: Udaipur
Today you’ll explore the marvelous City Palace and Crystal Gallery of Udaipur. Later, you’ll take a guided walk through the aromatic streets of the spice markets and the hectic bustle of the silver markets.
Day 13: Delhi
Fly back to Delhi where you will be escorted back to your hotel to rest up for your onward flight tomorrow.
Day 14: Depart Delhi
After breakfast it’s time to bid farewell to the awe-inspiring country of India, and be transported to the airport in time for your onward flight.
